Though "Photographer" by trade and passion, the titles I wear most proudly are mama and wife.
My story may sound familiar… you think you know what you want, and then you become a mother. My entire world shifted the day my daughter was born. Before that, I ran a creative studio, building brands and websites for entrepreneurs. Now, I’ve traded in the busy badge of honor for a gentler pace.
With my husband, Eric, and our daughter, Bonnie, I live a quiet life by the water in Richmond Hill, GA, just outside of Savannah. My days may juggle many things in this season as a wife, mama, and business owner… emailing, cooking, editing, homeschooling, reading, rocking to sleep... But I’ve found the richness of life in slowing down to savor the little moments, and I want to help you do the same from behind my camera, too.
Some of my fondest childhood memories were sitting on my grandmother’s couch sifting through piles of photo albums filled with fading photographs. They served as a physical reminder of the past, a way to narrate our family’s stories. While memories may fade and loved ones pass, these photographs become our living legacy.
Candid, genuine photos are our family’s connection to our past. They are how we reminisce with our children and our children’s children of the good ‘ol days. Perhaps unintentionally, I think we’ve lost that richness in the traditional family photos. Of course, we all love that photo of the whole family smiling at the camera- the kodak moment you’ll share on your Christmas card. But those aren’t the kinds of photographs we’ll want to sit alongside our grandchildren one day & fill in the gaps of our family’s history.
We need photographs of our here & now. The beautiful, messy moments woven into our children’s memories. The homes we’ve created & the love overflowing within. Photos that will one day serve as a reminder of how it felt to be loved by you. As mamas, we get to choose how to honor and preserve their childhood. Let’s create photographs that genuinely reflect this season of life.
It’’s my truest intention for our session together to be a chance to pause time, preserve the present, and tell the story of your family.
afternoon light flooding through the kitchen. fields of wildflowers. fresh garden bouquets. warm cups of tea & honey. salt air. mountain breezes. old photo albums. my daughter's smile.
